Dos Trigger Signals Explained: Entry, Stop Loss and TP1–TP3
Dos Trigger is the custom TradingView indicator behind the signal box on DOS GOLD. It runs on the 5-minute gold chart and posts a signal when its conditions are met.
What a signal contains
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| BUY / SELL | The direction of the setup |
| Entry | The price where the signal fired |
| SL (stop loss) | The price where the idea is wrong and the trade should close |
| TP1 | First, closest target |
| TP2 | Second target |
| TP3 | Furthest target, for when the move really runs |
An example
A signal like BUY entry 4040 SL 4034 TP1 4044 TP2 4048 TP3 4054 means:
- Risk to the stop: 4040 − 4034 = $6 per ounce.
- TP1 is $4 away (reward-to-risk about 0.7), TP2 is $8 away (about 1.3), and TP3 is $14 away (about 2.3).
How traders often use three targets
A common approach is to split a position into parts: close one part at TP1, another at TP2, and let the last part run to TP3. Many traders also move the stop loss to the entry price after TP1 is hit, so the rest of the trade can no longer turn into a loss. This is one popular method, not a rule. Choose what fits your own plan.
Good habits with any signal
- Check the time. A signal that fired 30 minutes ago on a 5-minute chart may already be stale.
- Check the news. A signal just before a major US data release is riskier.
- Size the trade from the stop loss, not from how confident you feel. See Risk Management for Gold Traders.
Important: no indicator wins every time. Dos Trigger signals are shared for education and are not a recommendation to buy or sell. Past signals do not guarantee future results.
